funny, they talk about recording to tape, but the parts (apparently) are laid down one or 2 at a time. And, so it seems, to a click.
Not really what was done from the birth of recorded rnr thru the early 80s, but interesting what the lot of them have to say, a dozen years ago.
Like many, I have a love/hate relationship with Pro Tools.

Watching Taylor is very joyous fun.

It was sad when Dave said "Look at the Hawkins" when Taylor's family came walking up.

I love when Dave is playing and his daughter wants him to go in the pool. She’s a doll. I’m scratching my head a bit. They’re dubbing to tape. They could do the same thing in Pro Tools and just not composite or digitally edit. Seeing them cut and splice 2” put a smile on my face and brings back a lot of memories.

" They could do the same thing in Pro Tools and just not composite or digitally edit. "

kind of what I was thinking. although tape sound vs any DAW back then was more significant than today.

And if they wanted, they could record to Studer 2” and mult the outputs into a synced DAW if they felt the 2” sounded superior, like many people do.

I would have thought they’d all play together with no punches if they wanted old school but maybe old school to them was just building tracks and dubbing to tape.
