Grateful11, I have the small version of that which runs off one 40V cell. I also have the very small that runs off the 18V cell (bought it some years ago).

I do find the advertising annoying... "Generator" implies to me an external energy source... solar or wind or hydro or combustion. Battery backup power supply is what they are..

I have the 18V model, picked it up at a Direct Tool Outlet for $35. I'm waiting on the version 2 of the big 40V. Hopefully it'll have solar charging capability. I have the 16" 40V chainsaw and it's really very nice.

So, say your electric car has a 64kWh battery, this would charge it just over 1/64th of the way to full? Just curious. To store enough solar to help with car charging, you would need at least 20 of them.

I'm not knocking it, I just have always wanted to use solar to charge my car, without the grid. You're right, this is not the way. Not sure there is a reasonable way.
