Just couldn't wait. It had to be done...

Fired up the furnace yesterday here in SE lower MI. Lows around 40, highs in the mid to high 50s over the last few days. And when the wife is cold...

Art P, AllGold, Modelamac, Sam 3, spacescape-you all have the heat on yet?

Something different...

That sounds like heaven. Lows in the lower 60s this week. Highs in the 90s.
But low humidity. It has been nice!
Been able to turn the AC off at night (early mornings, anyway!)

Turned the heat on this past Friday, until sometime next year.

Here in W. MA turned on the furnace over a week ago. Lows in the low 40s for a few days in a row with highs only around 60 cooled off the house to the tipping point. Not quite as cold the last few days, so the furnace only runs occasionally to keep the temperature up.

Hoping to make it to Oct 1. If we get sun, the house will passively solar-heat to get us through. But the sun isn't expected to shine here for at least a week and a half.

What bugs me is that we now go from AC to heat in a matter of a few days. The blast of humidity from southern storms is back to back with chilling nights.

I think that we never turned off the heat, as no one in our family has adjusted the thermostat, yet I heard the radiators creak and groan last night. I was wondering why the house was a comfy and cozy temperature when outside it was in the upper 40's. eye popping smiley

though nighttime temps have plunged to the 50s here in GA i've not cut the heat on. I did throw an extra cover on the bed and my son turned off one of the fans he uses for his wind tunnel of a bedroom.

going to try to hold out until October 1. an old game of chicken i used to play with my late brother.

We had frost this morning. I turned on the heat a couple of weeks ago but we get a lot of solar through our largest window so the heat only tends to come on a few hours in the morning. But we are expected to hit 70° next week so we may turn on the AC again.

We were on a cruise to the ABC Islands, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Even the locals were saying it was hot.
Temps mid-upper 90's and humidity mid-upper 80's.
So when we got home Sunday evening, the house was COLD! Turned on the mini splits in the living room and bedroom.
