Do You Remember Omni Magazine?

The full run of Omni Magazine has been archived and is available online-
[archive.org]

For those not familiar with Omni, it was a great magazine about science and technology that began publication in the late 1970s, balancing the more tangible "as we speak" news about tech stuff with speculative articles as well as outstanding photography, artwork, and fiction. A few of the fiction stories were only licensed for one-time publication and have been edited from the archives, though their titles still appear in the magazine index. Unfortunately the overall quality slipped a bit as the 80s wore on, but the earlier issues were great.

I do remember! Thank you!

As a kid, I remember the TV advertising push announcing the magazine was nearly continuous on my favorite UHF rerun channel.

Remember it well.

I believe I still have a couple issues.

Looks like the PDF files of them are pretty small, might try and DL them all.

Edit: Small for a reason, they're almost illegible in PDF form.

Unimaginable today that a new print magazine would be advertised on television. Now there's something nobody in Omni ever predicted about the future...

They were around from 1974 until 2000-ish in print form, but whoever owns the rights to the back issues is VERY protective of their content. Occasionally a pictorial or single image from Playgirl will get posted online but then it gets taken down very quickly. Some then "B-list" or lower stars who later made it big posed full-nude in earlier issues such as Don Johnson, no big deal in the 70s or 80s but potentially scandalous now, so there may be an enforced legal prohibition of some type against making the older content available online.
