I know there's fans of this movie on the forum; long thought lost forever, additional shot footage was found in the personal archives of John Hughes. More at the link below:

There's a good overview on YouTube that discusses the lost footage; was made long before the above was announced:

The best Thanksgiving movie ever made IMO. Strangely it usually gets aired during the Christmas season.

I'm going to ask a stupid question but is it edited into the movie or just something they show after the original movie has played, extras?

Only the guys at Paramount know at this point. I doubt it will be integrated into the film itself, but will likely only be included as extra footage on a bonus disc. Within a week after it's released, though, we'll likely get a supercut on YouTube or Vimeo where someone who loves the film does a splice-in of the new scenes.

(It's really too bad that this couldn't have happened while John Hughes was still with us, and he would get to supervise such a project.)

Embarrassing confession: I’ve yet to see this movie.

It is what it is.

If you're not a fan of foul language watch the TV version.

Taking the language out will change the impact and humor of the film.

There just wasn't much that I found funny in the movie.

It felt agonizingly long, as was unable to sustain a disbelief-enjoyment bubble.

For me, it tried to hard to be funny, and was cloying.

One viewing was more than enough.
