Hood Country Creamer used to be $1.89/qt. at Stop and Shop. Well, at least that's what it was pre-pandemic. Occasionally it would go on sale for $1.69. Lately it's been creeping up. First it went to $2.29, then $2.69. Then to $3.29. Well today I almost did the proverbial double-take as I saw it for $3.89.

Maybe if I start drinking it black, I'll cut back as a result.

Their classic roast beef sandwich that used to be advertised as 4 for $5 is now 4 for $10.

Buy it by the half gallon if possible (I think it has a really long shelf life).

My usual choice is sugar free Coffeemate French Vanilla.

A quart at Walmart is $3.98, a half gallon is $6.48.

I purchased a frother a couple of years back and now my homemade coffees are always lattes. Milk is (comparatively) cheap and I always have some on hand anyway.

And yet milk prices paid to the dairy farmers have fallen about 25% to $19.75/100#.

Dairy farmers never learn. The price ran up to about $26/100# and they start tacking on more cows, then it's right back down again. I married into a dairy family 35 years. Two years ago they were needing $16-17/100# to break even but the price of everything to get the milk out is way up.

I’m not a coffee guy but buying cheep coffee to put in an expensive coffee maker sounds funny. I’ve had Folgers and a person would definitely need something to cover up the taste.

For me, it's the difference in their respective fat content, calories, and shelf life. Every little bit I can reduce helps, although creamer and half and half are pretty close.

....so you will like your coffee.....the way some like their men.....???
