I've been pleased with the standalone 2K camera I have. The weakness is in the dynamic range of the video, that is, if the sun is shining bright then white things tend to get washed out. Night vision is good.
Eufy has an appealing product because it records locally and does not require any subscription fees. Seriously thinking about snagging the same deal as Bernie.
Their in-camera AI is also pretty good in my experience. I can define a region in the video frame for it to watch for animals and have the trigger recording. Would also work for people. Other features I have not tried include baby crying detection, and automatic playback of a predefined sound for some event that you can configure.
