....price increases announced today, take effect tomorrow.....

Disneyland Ticket & Genie Prices Go Up Again Today!

....It’s the spooky season… and not just for Halloween decorations, but for the annual increase in Disneyland ticket prices as well.

Astute Disney travelers noted recently that Disneyland hasn’t been allowing park reservations past January 9th, 2023. We now know why. Today, Disneyland is raising prices on tickets as well as on Genie+. You’ll begin being able to book those dates beyond January 9th as of today.

Disneyland Ticket Prices Go Up Again

We can hardly be shocked by Disneyland ticket price increases. They go up EVERY year. And while there is the occasional surprise, $5 seems to be the average increase this time around.

Years ago, Disneyland switched from a single price for adults to pricing based on demand. At first, there were three tiers. Then there were 5. Last year had 6. And now there are 7… though, the new tier is confusingly called “Tier 0,” and shifts the previous Tier 1 down a level.

On the low end, Tier 0, the price remains $104. We suspect the new tier is called “0” because there will be almost zero days at that level (we jest… but probably aren’t too far off the mark).

There are a few little surprises… general parking is NOT going up. It remains $30. Though, Preferred parking will go up by $5. Genie is also going up by $5, and will finally begin surge pricing as well. We’ll explain that in further detail below.

Disneyland Oct 2022 Ticket Price Increase

Beginning today (October 11th, 2022), Disneyland tickets will cost the following. (As a reminder, we do not change prices once an article has run. Always use Disneyland’s app or website for current prices, terms, and conditions.):

One Day/One Park tickets will cost:

Tier 0 – $104 (this has been the low price since 2019)
Tier 1 – $114
Tier 2 – $129
Tier 3 – $144
Tier 4 – $159
Tier 5 – $169
Tier 6 – $179 (a $15 increase over the previous high price)
*Add park hopping for $65 (a $5 increase)

Multi-day tickets are also going up

2-Day / One Park Per Day – $285 (a $30 increase or $15 more per day)
3 Day / One Park Per Day – $360 (a $30 increase or $10 more per day)
4 Day / One Park Per Day – $395 (a $35 increase or $8.75 more per day)
5 Day / One Park Per Day – $415 (a $35 increase or $7 more per day)
*Add Multi-day ticket Parkhopping for $60 (unchanged from last year)

Disneyland Resort Parking

There’s good news and bad on the parking front. General parking stays the same, but the other types go up.

General Parking will remain $30
Preferred Parking will go up $5 to $50
Hotel Valet Parking will increase $15 to $65

Historical Disneyland Ticket Prices

There are some trends here. We spent some time last night pulling together the Disneyland ticket prices since 2009. (Click to see in larger size).

Genie+ Price Increase

It’s not just tickets that have gone up… As of today, Genie+ is also going up in price, perhaps by a lot (but you won’t know until the day of your visit). When Genie first launched, we were told that Genie+ would have demand-based pricing. However, the price remained locked at $20 at Disneyland and $15 at Walt Disney World.

Disneyland Genie+ pricing

$25 per day if you purchase in advance (a $5 increase)
Demand-based pricing will start at $25 on the least in-demand days, but will go up on more popular days.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction will be added to the regular Genie+ selection. That will leave just one extra selection Lightning Lane ride in each park: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland and Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure.

Walt Disney World Genie+ Pricing

Unlike Disneyland, Walt Disney World no longer sells Genie+ in advance. It must be purchased on the day of your visit.
The new low price for Genie+ at WDW will remain $15, but can surge on higher demand days. For the month of October only, the low will be $15, and the high will be $22. But expect that to change in the coming months.
Pricing will be revealed each morning and is not currently available in advance. ....

raises prices.....................again.................................?!

My wife and I are sitting on a 7 days left on 10 day non-expiring Park Hopper ticket with 9 Fun passes for water and sports attractions. If we had never used those 3 days we could have sold them. We paid like $350 a piece for them. I don't see us using them even in the next couple years. We bought them when we were DVC members, we sold our Disney Old Key West timeshare contract.

I don't think you can even buy a non-expiring ticket anymore.

Similar here. We have not been in about 5 years. We used to buy the 10 day, non-expiring, Park Hopper, and water park fun and more tickets and use them over several years when the kids were little. We have a few of those left with 2-3 days on them. We also have some unused 5 day park hoppers, but these are non-expiring, so you have 14 days to use them once first used.

They always raise the prices 1-2 times per year, but the parks have become so complicated with Genie +, Lightning Lanes, and other ways to monetize what used to be complementary. They are confusing changes to what used to be the simple Fast Pass system.

As much as I want to go again and see all the new rides, it seems more stressful with all the planning and reservations you have to do beforehand and all the time staring at your phone while there.

I still have an old ticket book somewhere...is it worth anything?

No "E" tickets left, of course.

Wife and I live 10 miles from Disneyland. She has the expensive Magic Key Annual Pass, and I have the cheapest.

When I watch my favorite information choice on Youtube about Disneyland (Fresh Baked), I always get the latest info.

Wife and I just go to eat, and watch people. Her parking is paid, so thats good. But Reservations, Genie + and 7 Levels of ticket prices depending on the day. Too Much.

Right now , the last 2 weeks of December, there are no Magic Key Annual Passes allowed in. And all of the daily rates are $179.00.

Good for visitors, well, wealthy visitors.

I may not renew magic key if they still have them at the next expiration date.
