For you Ventura Adventurers, wait 'till you see the much lauded Remind Me feature. It's. So. Bad.

The biggest feature I was looking forward to with Ventura was Mail's new Remind Me, which is something I've wanted for over a decade. The need was was twofold:

1. Send an email with some question or task in it, and then to be able to mark that email to Remind Me in xx days to see if the receiver had followed up.

2. Receive an email in the Inbox and not able to/want to deal with it at the present time, but also not to want to see it every day in the Inbox, but instead look at it in xx days/weeks/months, and then have it disappear from the Inbox until such set time.

Ventura's Remind Me does neither of these. It's actually shockingly useless. It doesn't work on Sent emails, and if you use it on Inbox emails, it won't remove the email from the Inbox. In fact if you try to move it, the Remind Me gets canceled.

I've been Mac'ing since the early 90s (go System 6, go!) and I'm voting this for the Top 10 Most Useless Features they've ever rolled out. May v2 be so much better.

I’ve been using the feature where an email can be moved into the reminder list. It works but it is very clunky.

I'm baffled that they didn't get it right. There've been 3rd-party apps that have done this for many years. All it needs to do is:

1. Take any email in the Inbox folder and hold it in a holding tank folder for xx period of time, at which time it places it back into the top of the Inbox with a background color (or some other way to distinguish it as a Remind Me email)

2. Take any already Sent email and do the same thing. The Remind me could come up as a classic Notification window.

This is such a needed feature for anyone in business or sales, to follow up on a communication thread that is important. But it's equally valuable for normal human communications.

when I first started getting those "reminders" in my Gmail account, I thought how intrusive. and now, I like them, as I forget to follow up with folks all the time.

Hurts like a bastid...
