What is it with these really good country music artists switching to pop and really downgrading their music, style, artistry, etc. Just like Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, destroying the past and ruining who you are. It seems it's all about the Benjamins, screw artistic integrity.

Was Shania ever a really good country artist? She had some catchy tunes, pop to me. Her appeal was of the eye candy variety, although I do think she's got a good voice.

Shania was always pop. She's about as country as Def Lep, which is what a lot of her old material has a certain "similarity" to.
She had a good voice. Mutt saw to that.
A very pleasant person to deal with, at least back when.

Just because an artist lives and records in Nashville, Memphis or Muscle Shoals don't make them country. Just closer to the Benjamins.
