It took me six tries today.
The first two tries I got all gray.
But that helps too...
"
RATES" is my fave starting word, from my earlier mortgage career, and I mix those letters up for variety.
If that whiffs, I follow w/ "
LINGO" (or "
LOGIN") in keeping w/ my Wheel of Fortune paradigm.
Another whiff gets "
DUMPY", "
BUMPY", "
CHUMP" or "
MUCKY", depending on an unknown whim.
After the first two, you're left w/ only "
U" or "
Y" in the vowel department, and a few more than a dozen possibles.
All have a "
U", most also have a "
Y"; the "
U" is mostly the 2nd letter, or else the 3rd, and the "
Y" is always last.
If you ferret out the "
U" and/or the "
Y" in your 2nd word, your universe of possibles grows significantly.
If your goal is simply to solve, I can't fathom a word that could take more than 5 tries, on a bad day.....
It's when you start guessing for a quicker solve that the attempts add up, and can get ya.
