As life keeps going, so does the ever growing collection of digital images of the family at various ages.

Does one just create albums in Photos, and have everything stored on the Boot Mac HD?

Or ?

Primary storage in Photos cause it's easy. Backing that up is the important part. I don't trust my primary data to be stored on the cloud.

Backed up locally to an NAS via TimeMachine, and to the cloud via BackBlaze, and intermittently I backup via Carbon Copy Cloner to a USB drive.

Mrs. Zealand takes most of the pictures and they go into Photos and then to an external backup drive. I used to maintain a good separate system but just don't take many pics anymore and that's still triple backed up, but very little new data flows into there anymore.

I'm constantly culling images and files, duplicates, just don't like the clutter. But for the rest that I want saved, I store on physical backup drives, and I use the $50/year Backblaze as online safety, as it'll backup any number of drives I tell it to.

iCloud and hard drive. We've gotten to where we make photo books several times per year. We really just don't sit around and look at pictures on our computers/iPads/iPhones. The books are nice because they can sit in the den and then 1 or 2 be brought out to the coffee table for a week or so.
