Two so far, as I type this.

Everyone I've known who had a Prince Albert weren't the least bit shy about showing it off when asked, so I expected the poll would get honest answers.

The MRF age group tends to mitigate against this. The only piercing I have were surgical staples, now removed.

The alleging was entirely by the body piercing artist and an associate who popularized it some decades ago. There is no historical verification of this, and it has since turned into an urban legend.

Although I do/did have some piercings, none that far south!

Back when I was building projects from Radio Electronics, occasionally while trying to remove a stubborn IC from its socket, I’d end up with a 14 pin IC embedded in either my thumb or forefinger. That’s as close to a piercing as I’ve ever come.

My father had his ears pierced in the late 1920’s as a toddler. Funny to see pierced ears on a 4’8” man in his mid 90’s (he started shrinking every year some time ago - he used to be 5’3”.)

Probably too much, too soon, LOL.

As piercings go, I imagine the exact counterpart is not at all common for women.

There tends to be a 'close enough for Govt. work' location, rather than bang on.

Apparently Emma Bunton, then known as "Baby Spice", asked Prince Charles if he had a Prince Albert when they were first introduced, then had to explain what she meant to the befuddled Prince.

Am I the only one who wonders what happens when...

Prince Albert is in a thunderstorm, and gets hit by lightning?

Prince Albert goes through the TSA detector at the airport?

Prince Albert is close to an MRI machine, specifically the super-electromagnet dynamo? (Does that get a rise out of him? <snicker>)

... all of these scenarios (and several others) could involve extreme embarrassment, bodily injury, or both. grinning smiley

The modern version is now Prince Albert's Ghost, where the hardware is made on a 3-D printer. (I made this up, but I figure someone must be trying it.)

It's an electrifying experience, though if Prince Albert was the tallest thing around to attract lightning then Prince Albert's owner was kind of asking for it.

Prince Albert goes through the TSA detector at the airport?

The rings, barbells, etc. used in exotic piercings are usually surgical stainless steel and will set off metal detectors, but I'm reasonably sure there are plastic/silicone/non-metallic "maintainers" designed specifically for pierced travelers to use while en route.

Same as with a metal detector, absolutely take it out first and use a maintainer if necessary.

Bodily injury, yes, but embarrassment isn't likely. Everyone I've known who had a Prince Albert wasn't the least bit shy about showing it off pretty much any time it was appropriate to do so, and none of them would have so much as batted an eye at showing their Prince Albert to a TSA agent.
