The ocelot video in the post below... this reminded me to ask about it. I usually like to save videos rather than stream, because my internet connection is often intermittent, which leads to stuttering if trying to play live streams.

The video on the PBS website appears to be a m3u8, and I've never been able to figure out how to properly download these... I've tried using vlc, but it seems I only get the video and not the audio.

So how have you all been doing this?
