Robert Clary passed away Wednesday. He was perhaps best known for his role on Hogan's Heros, but he was also a concentration camp survivor and acted in a number of films and other TV shows. RIP

He survived the concentration camps by singing for the guards, he kept them entertained.

I always enjoyed Hogan's Heroes, I'll still watch it on occasion.

He was one of my favorites on that show. Oh hell, they all were. But I used to love the way he said "co-lo-nel" instead of "kernal". ;)

I just re-watched the pilot episode last week (the only episode in black and white). It was one of my favorite shows to watch (in syndication) growing up. RIP.

During my childhood, two episodes every evening, 7pm, on the local UHF rerun channel. (It was eventually replaced with two episodes of MASH when that hit syndication.)
