Note taking

I carry my iPad Pro to meetings and use the Apple Pencil with Noteability from Ginger Labs to take notes. I worry that my notes might not be readable in the future and I find organization difficult. I don’t care for Apples Notes when it comes to handwriting as it’s very difficult to have it look like I want. What do you use for taking notes in meetings?

You could always ask to record the meeting on your iPad and then go back and make readable notes later. In college, I used to record one of my classes on one of those mini-cassette recorders because I had a teacher who spoke way too fast, and my notes were unreadable because I'd have to skip half of what she said.

In one class, she said some not-so-nice things about another professor that I caught on tape. If I didn't have an A average in the class, I might have been tempted to use it against her.

I use Nebo, convert to text, file in one note for the wider team. Notability's conversion to text was more difficult when I demoed the two.

ETA: I was tempted by Notability's sync to recording feature, but half my meetings are with colleagues that don't want recordings, and I can't breach their trust.

Notability. It syncs to Dropbox as PDF docs, so my notes will be accessible for as long as PDFs are readable.

I tried Evernote and it said I've tried it in the past. Entrance denied unless I pay.

I tried Nebo which was very impressive and intuitive. It was my favorite but it seem strongly oriented at converting the handwriting to text and I couldn't find a way to still have the hand writing remain. Very impressive at how well it worked and how easy it was.

I played with Notability some more and discovered I can export my handwritten notes as PDF and can still search them for words as the handwriting recognition remains intact. So I've decided to stay with Notability for my meeting notes and simply export as PDF when I'm done.

Thanks for the suggestions. This definitely helped me sort out just what I wanted.
