Went to Apple site. Tried resending to several folk using the (!). Restarted both iPhone 8 and iPad. No joy.
Using 15.7.1 with t-Mobile. My WiFi text to wife in house worked. I do not see the “send as text” option in settings. Apple suggest updating to 16.0. Is that the best/only option? T.I.A.

My TMobile did that to me a couple of days ago. IPhone, iPad and Mac all doing the same thing. I restarted everything and the iPhone worked. Since none were working I'd bet that it was coincidental that restarting corresponded with it working.

Think I may have figured it out. A friend who is in to astrology says Mars is retrograde in Gemini causing troubling focusing in communication!
Actually I will restart everything again including my evil Comcast router and then upgrade if need be. At least I can still make calls (knock on wood). Thanks for the tip. I may just have to buy a roll of stamps before the price goes up.

Disconnect from your WiFi network and then reconnect… this usually fixes it for me.

Yes, thanks Michael. Restarting the laptop appears to have reset the pad and phone (?!). At least working for now.

I did disconnect the wifi as well so no scientific solution but one of those resets worked. Thanks for the help
