Lol... my AOL email account is 35 years old. If Compuserve was still around the account would be.. 42 years old.

Maybe they’ll email you a digital plaque designed for easy printing and framing when you hit 50 years. Let us know.

Back when I was.a kid, I would read about people being members of the Quarter Century Wireless Association and a few being members of the Half Century Wireless Association. This referred to ham radio operators who had held a valid license for that many years. I find that I have been eligible for the Half Century Wireless Association for about a decade, and I never even tried to look up how you would apply for the certificate.

I think this internet thing has made the whole ham radio thing pretty obsolete, in that we can have conversations all over the world without worrying about the sun spot cycle.

The other strange thing is that in ham radio, you can tell what country the person you are talking to is from. because they have a call sign that is specific to the country. I don't know what country p8712 refers to, although I suspect my ID is pretty obvious.

I have a four-character eBay user name - maybe dating to 1995-2000? Sadly, I can’t remember any more specifically than that.
