Something I discovered recently is all you can eat Chinese buffet with USA style thanksgiving meal. You get all the usual favorites plus turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, etc. for a few bucks more. Call your local buffet for details. No dishes at the end!

Growing up in NYC, and Jewish, our standard Christmas "dinner" was Chinese food - the only thing open Christmas day, besides the movies, which was our entertainment.

I’ve tried to convince the family to have thanksgiving at the country club. Limited time event, good food, we all go home happy. So far nobody is on board with my idea. Our local grocery store has offered a take home thanksgiving meal in the past.

Growing up in NYC, I've always heard that too, but it makes me wonder why they're forced to eat out that day, don't they ever cook for themselves?

My sister's father-in-law owns a small chain of donut shops and food trucks in the Florida panhandle. This week he's been selling full Thanksgiving meals for takeout (pretty reasonable too).

Our local grocery store gives away a free turkey to anyone who buys $500 in groceries during the preceding month. Not a high bar to meet.
