Have used Apple wired mouse M5769 and like it. But after long use it sometimes quits. Symptom—mouse moves but cursor won't move. Rapid mouse movement sometimes restores cursor, but this is a persistent aggravation.

What do you recommend as reliable wired mouse?

Dampen the end of a Q-Tip with alcohol and clean the clear plastic wedge on the bottom.

Logitech basic

I got one of these to attach to a KVM. It works reasonably well. For anything serious, I use my Contour mouse (that Contour has stopped making, sigh).
