I've been looking at buying a new TV... and as is typical, I'm just watching the price to see if it ever drops a lot.
I'm the weeks of looking, the price has gone up and down $100 a few times at Amazon. What I find interesting is that the price at Best Buy will go up and down by the same exact amount on the same days. The price stays within $2 of each other.

I'm just wondering.... are the sites looking at other's prices and just adjusting them regardless of if it's up or down?

Yes. I believe it's Amazon that is chasing BB's pricing.

or the other way around. Most likely they have Bots adjusting prices, probably with some human supervision/approval for larger changes, but these small fluctuations are most likely automated.

There were cases where 2 Bots were chasing each other on Amazon and prices for books spiraled into millions.
