Do you have to be an Air Force geek to enjoy this movie - I watched it (at home) and was bored to death...
As it's a Navy centric movie, being an Air Force geek might help some, but not a lot, and not at all necessary.
Maybe you were one of the abused children (

You can take pride in your position among a very small minority.
Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer reports a 96% score from 450 critics' reviews, and 99% Audience Score 50,000+ Verified Rating.
I posit the overwhelming majority of these two groups are not Air Force (or Navy or Marine) geeks, or aviation geeks at all.
Though it must be said, most geeky viewers, even those who acknowledged some MilSpec inaccuracies, still raved about the movie.
They knew the difference between a movie and a documentary, but I digress.
I also posit that most viewers didn't have any particular aviation knowledge or aviation or military service.
So you not only didn't enjoy it, but were 'bored to death'.
That makes you special.
