Falk also plays a grandpa in one of the greatest movies going — The Princess Bride.

Fred Savage was the grandson, before The Dark Savage Days.

LOVE that movie.

'I do not think that word..."

'As you wish'.

Also As You Wish, a very good book and audiobook about the making of The Princess Bride.

Not quite, I do have just one more question...

(Rockford Files is a great suggestion.)

As I recall Columbo originally aired on a rotating basis with McCloud, McMillan And Wife, and possibly one other series. I never got into McCloud but McMillan And Wife wasn't bad and had a bit of a sense of humor to it, so my vote is for McMillan And Wife.

I've been working my way through Poirot via BritBox and have been enjoying it. I just started season 6 so about halfway through.

You are correct. Peter Falk is however in both Murder By Death and The Cheap Detective. The first is a parody of the detective/mystery genre as a whole, if I'm not mistaken the second one is a parody of Mike Hammer/film noir detectives specifically.

If you're going that route, throw in Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. Steve Martin, Carl Reiner and at least a little bit of every great B&W detective movie ever made.

Mea culpa; mea culpa; mea maxima culpa. Peter M. Falk played the grandpa in The Princess Bride, and was not in The Neverending Story. Sorry, folks; old age is getting the better of me...

Back to the rubber room...

Thanks for the post. His character in the back reminded me so I went back and watched By Dawn's Early Light last night, one of my favorite episodes.

That was a terrific movie, and it had Rachel Ward.

Poirot is a favorite of mine.

I've watched the entire Agatha Christie's Poirot series twice and always enjoyed it.

In TV or film, David Suchet was the best Poirot, far and away.

Tony Randall as Poirot, maybe as comic relief.

I never heard a radio version on the show, and don't

His Belgian accent wasn't that great, but he was highly entertaining.

I wish they hadn't made Capt. Hastings pretty much useless.
Besides the constant condescending remarks made by Poirot, he never did much of anything significant, other than be Poirot's good friend.

He was the equivalent of Nigel Bruce's Watson, and that's not a good thing.

While I found the whole series enjoyable, Curtain: Poirot's Last Case was especially good.
