A very old iTunes library

Bored and looking through the lib (which I don't often access these days) and looked for the oldest tune played:
For me it was Hotel California last played on 3/08/10 followed by pages of stuff I'd not bother to play in over a decade - not sure why I even keep that library.

So what's your oldest played?

where might one see the "oldest played" info? I can see a "last played" column in my library, but not the other...

In OSX iTunes or OSX Music you can go to the View menu and select Show View Options to check the last played field.

Yeah, I found the "last played" but I'm looking for a "first played" or "oldest played" as referenced in OP.

It would just be your last (or oldest) "Last Played"

About 1/8 of my library (equal to many hundreds of songs) have no "Last Played" date.

I assume that's data that was lost in various iTunes updates, and then the iTunes-to-Music switch. dunno smiley

According to the Music App:

Oldest last-played date: Arlo Guthree - Deportee... 3/28/06.

However, there are a bunch of caveats. I sync about 25% of my iTunes library to my phone, and change-up the playlists every few months.

I usually have my music on shuffle on the iPhone. Play-counts sync, but last-played does not seem to sync. So, I don't know how authoritative this is.

And better than half my library has no last-played date. I've played a bunch of them, so I'm guessing that they have old MP3 tags that don't support "last played" or something like that.
