1) Unplugged fridge that stopped working yesterday or last night.

2) Wait 10 secs, plug fridge back in.

3) There is no Step 3.

I am available by appointment only. Please supply references prior to scheduling a pre-paid site visit.

Mine was quite a but more involved, but it was basically cleaning the incredible amount of dust that had accumulated on the coils. Wow. After that, it didn't want to get cold again for about 3 days. It took at least 3 unplugging cycles and then it seemed to take. And now we're getting a new fridge anyway.

first thing we tried, but after removing the cardboard back learned there really was no dust, but then again, the coils aren't there either

And this isn't the kind where they're underneath, behind a front grill at the bottom

So we probably are not yet out of the woods on this

Then again ... could be a control board issue if Ctrl-Alt-Dlt / the 3 Finger Salute cured it this time.

That's a good video!

And, no, I'm buying a basic top freezer fridge. The only reason to ditch my current fridgeis because the shelves and for gasket are all decrepit and broken and the plastics inside are beginning to crack.

So you're saying a fridge and a router are functionally the same.

1. Dishwasher was making an annoying noise. Wife and I discussed it being at the end of its life and then looked up prices on a new one.

2. Recovered and looked up YouTube repair videos and disassembled said dishwasher, removing some plastic, trash and a couple of unshelled nuts.

3. Dishwasher pleasantly humming along.

4. Remind wife at least once a day what a hero I am.

A good router has active cooling for the components, and a modern fridge has a router built in. Therefore, these are indeed functionally the same. QED

yea, good PSA that. It's a pain the less flexible I've become, but every year I do it, even if I don't suspect anything.

Still running fine. I’m completely convinced it will never break down. Obviously.

So … I posted on applianceblog.com and Jake suggested looking at the various wire harnesses connecting to the control board. They can become loose. He also suggested looking at the wire bundle that runs under one of the doors. If that gets unsecured the wires can get crimped or cut (that sounds nice.)

I’ll inspect both this weekend if I can. A new control board (the only other diagnosis) is $400 … which homie ain’t buying.
