Grrrr...signature on documernt

It should be really simple, but in this case, it isn't.

I received a .pdf document requiring my signature. It opens fine in Preview and apparently Preview makes it easy as hell to add a signature. Which it does...if I had a camera on my computer...which I don't. So I opened the document on my work Macbook Pro and was able to easily create the signature and it's there in my Preview app on the Macbook. But I want to use it on my Mac Mini which is my home computer. I tried emailing the signed document to myself and I can open it and see my signature on it, but I can't manipulate that signature or use it elsewhere.

What are my options? Thanks.

I'd print it, scan, and use the Adobe Scan app on my phone. There might be a better way but thats what I'm familiar with.

there is also a method of exporting as a .png and opening the doc you want to sign and the sig and layering.

If they are on the same Apple ID--it should sync to all computers--Mine does.
Why don't you get the PDF over to the Work MacBook

Preview doesn't require a camera. Just use the touch pad.

It also allows you to use an iPhone or iPad

Well, if I had a computer with a touchpad, it would likely have a camera. My Mac Mini has neither.

No iPad. And I don't see a way to use the iPhone.

A trackpad of iSight camera is required to create a signature.

I finally downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader and that's at least letting me import a previously scanned signature in place. Interestingly, the Fed's newest fillable W9 form let's me do that, but it won't let enter the date with the keyboard. So I have to save the Adobe .pdf, then open it in Preview to use Annotate to add the date. What a fustercluck.

Thanks, Fritz. Oops. I guess I should have mentioned also that I'm running Mojave on my Mini, and the iPhone connection with Preview is for Catalina. Besides, even if I were on Catalina, I wouldn't want to be using my finger to sign my name on a phone for anything important.

Almost every .pdf I've received lately has the option of typing an electronic sig instead of needing a pic. Save you some grief if they'll accept that.

Got one with my mini. I love it.
