I'm excited! Today, I received a new MacBook Air. It is an M1 16GB/1TB. I saved a significant amount of money by going with the M1 and buying a “new, factory sealed in damaged box” MacBook Air from Small Dog. This is a bit of a step up from my own current Mac, which is an i7 mid-2012 MBP. I am pleased and excited about this MBA!

Really enjoyed the unboxing experience!

This is truly only the second new Mac I have ever owned. My other truly new Mac was the first Mac I ever purchased. It was a Mac LC II, which had a zippy 68030 processor (16mhz?), 4MB of RAM and a whopping 40 MB hard drive! By the time I stopped using the LC II it had a 50mhz processor and the RAM was expanded to 26MB through slots on the PDS card.

I've got a busy week ahead, but looking forward to finding time to enjoy this new Mac!

It's been a great year for tech! The Christmas present from my fiancé was an Apple Watch SE Gen 2. I've been really enjoying the Apple Watch. I've been “strongly encouraged” to keep the Apple Watch on my wrist when I go out to shovel or throw snow. The concern and love behind the request is appreciated! Also, I guess for a 64 year old guy living in the snow belt it is the wise thing to do!

gadje, I got the last (only?) factory sealed damaged box MBA that they had in stock. It’s been several years since I ordered from Small Dog Electronics, but they do always seen to have “pre-loved” Macs and will have open box Macs as well. [smalldog.com]

MartyS- the purchases made at Small Dog several years ago actually had a very nice looking, plastic small dog in the package with the order. I accumulated several different breeds over the years. Sadly, the MBA did not have that small dog enclosed with the Mac.

IIRC, my last new Small Dog Mac laptop was an iBook 14".....
don't recall whether it was the G3 or G4.
Back then we got little plastic doggie figurines w/ the order(s).
Latest new Mac laptop is same a yours, also M1 MBA; and you're in for a screamin' good time.
