We had a Party City for a few years... the parking lot was always empty, and half the lights were turned off.
They closed up shop a few years ago.

I remember a pizza joint I used to go to had a party supply biz next door. I always wondered how they got the idea that it could make it, especially in a crummy strip mall. They lasted a few years then predictably disappeared.

We have those 60-day pop-up Halloween stores, and I'm guessing they provide 80% of the business that Party City used to get, without the overhead of being open an additional ten months.
