No... that one hurts.

Another tough loss. They are coming more often now and I guess it’s to be expected. His last album, For Free is really fantastic.

With Jackson Browne, a fitting comment:

From wikipedia -

>Crosby's liver problems stemmed from a long run with hepatitis C.

At this point its unclear what the official cause of death was, but I'll note that hep C also got Bowie and Lou Reed.

They survived a lot for a long time but some consequences of drug use finally caught up with them.

Don't feel that bad. By all reports, he had a great time. I'm sure he's laughing.

I certainly grew up with all of his groups. But if I was listening to CSN or CSNY I could never figure out the voice of Crosby. Nash and Stills were so obvious, and I guess my ears were just not trained to hear him.

SO I would listen to "Almost Cut My Hair"..... and get my Crosby fix.

Alas, another of the greats is lost. It’s heartening that he defeated his addictions and continued to share his soul with all of us for so many years.

Another soul gone. The remnants of the sixties are slowly checking out of the scene.
he had quite a life.

He could still deliver a fine performance right near the end. Sadness for my generation.

I spent two hours in a room with the guy once. My memories of him are less fond than most of yours are.

I’ll just say that every unflattering thing you’ve ever heard about him is likely true, based on what I saw that day. I’ll leave it at that.

My Facebook post earlier this evening:

One of my clearest high school memories is a group of us standing around the radio on the teacher's desk near the end of homeroom listening to Suite:Judy Blue Eyes. The first period bell rang but none of us moved and we weren't going anywhere till after the song got to the part where we all belted out "Change my life. Make it right. Be my Lady!"

R.I.P. David Crosby. Thank you for the music.

Got to see him in concert several different times over the years. This photo is from the 2007 Pray For Peace Concert at the Washington National Cathedral, such a great time.
