That is a tremendous value. The catch is that to enjoy this great bargain, you must compromise by settling on the 512GB SSD. Now, if you are going to compromise, this is the place to do it. Most people will be perfectly fine with a speedy external. But if I was going to use this for 5-8 years...I just don't know.

Agreed on that. If I didn't need to keep with a portable, this is the way I'd go. This model, with maybe the miniStack STX from OWC with a 2TB NVMe (and matching SSD for backup).
