I may have invented a new version of Worldle.

Sending a file (created by MS Word for Mac 2011) to another user on Windows 10 (not sure what version of Word) as an attachment in Mail. Have sent both .docx and .doc versions.

The other person says he can open and read the files. However, he is unable to edit them.

I suspect I could switch over to Google Docs, but am curious. Is there a reason why someone could not edit either of these files? Is my version too old?

I think I had a similar problem. I was able to edit the documents once I moved them out of the Mail program and onto my hard drive.

Copy and paste into a new Word file on the Winblow’s machine.

Tell them to save to their Documents folder and open from there instead of double-clicking the attachment in Outlook.
