A total eclipse will be passing through (over?) the US from Texas to Maine.

[nationaleclipse.com]

I went to Greenville SC in 2017 to watch the last one. I think we had 2-3 minutes of totality.

The 2024 eclipse will offer over 4 minutes near the centerline.

It was a really cool experience and I vowed that I would see the 2024 eclipse. I think Texas will where I try to go for weather considerations. Not a cloudy-day event.

There is also an annular eclipse in October 2023, but nothing beats a total eclipse IMHO.

I’m looking at reservations in Mazatlán.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I went backpacking in oregon for the last one - a mere 12hr drive. This one is too far away. But I will say that seeing a 100% full eclipse is something that every human should experience. It's a moment that I will never forget.

Being just outside of Little Rock AR I'm in the prime viewing area meaning that it will almost definitely be raining or overcast that day.

It won't be totality, but pretty darn close in my own back yard. But, 90 minutes on the interstate will put me right on the center line.

Except it's Western PA in April, meaning I'd have to drive to Texas to have good chance at clear skies even though I'm almost in the path here.

Still recovering from the shock and awe of the 1992 Eclipse.....

It took until Nike released the Lunar Eclipse 3+ for that recovery to begin in earnest.....

The most comfortable Eclipse  ever made, or seen.

What will the Great Eclipse of 2024 bring ? ? ?

Saw the last one in Helen, GA and it was great. The six hours in traffic back to Atlanta (for what's normally a 1-hour drive), not so much.

I'd love to see this one in Austin. After it's over... less so.

The 2017 totality path went directly over my place in the Tetons; some friends came and camped out, and we just set up lawn chairs right there.

Quite an amazing experience.

My parents' place in Texas is under the path, so I figure it'll be a good week to visit them.

I should be fully retired by then, but our son will still be in school. We’ll see.

I had hoped to see it with my great aunt who lived in a suburb of Dayton, but COVID got her.

I have relatives Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo, NY. Being at Niagara Falls would be wild!

I was attending a funeral with military honors in Kent, WA the last time an eclipse occurred there. Eerie seeing the sky go dark and feeling the cold set in while standing in a cemetary!
