Is there a preferred/recommended App that works with Apple Photos to seamlessly design and print photo album books from within Photos? Not looking for a service where I am uploading images to a website. But rather something that works with Photos on my home computer?

I googled it and found numerous services. NYT recommends MixBook. Any personal experiences to share?

Thanks. Looking further into it, Mimeo does look to be the favored App/Extension that is similar to what Apple was offering for printing photo books.

Mixbook does not work as an extension from within Apple Photos (desktop). It's for iPhone users.

I'll second Mimeo Photos because it works right within Photos. I've only used it for calendars, but I've used it every year for several years after using Apple's service for many years prior to that. The finished product is indistinguishable from Apple's (which makes sense because Mimeo was Apple's provider).

The interface is a little clunky and limiting, but it's solid and provides plenty of options. I have my gripes; it's really not much different from working with a web interface, but I like the quality of the calendars and knowing exactly what I'm going to get. For better control, I create the pages in Lightroom's print module and then export them as full pages which I import into Photos.
