How do you put graphics in posts? How do I find the directions? Thanks.

How I wish it was just 'Copy and Paste'. Yet another thing to figure out and learn; maybe not.

Today I don't feel it's worth the effort.

You have to have the image on your hard drive. Then you go to a hosting site such as imageshack.us and you upload your file and they assign it a url. And then you copy and paste the url and put these tags around it:


It's so easy, a caveman can do it.
[ img ]http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/5879/caveman1oj6.jpg[ / img ]

(take out all the spaces so it is one continuous line of characters and voila!

Use this symbol [ to enclose img at the start. Then at the end of the pasted url put that with another bracket and /img. That's two brackets at both ends.


I forgot where the hints are. But here is an example without the "/" at the start of the end brackets

You do it like this [ img ]http://www.roger-russell.com/photos/fencepost2.jpg[ /img ] just remove the spaces and the image appears "as if by magic"!

Add opening and closing URL tags (with an included URL, of course), and you end up with a clickable image.

(once again, remove all spaces and ...)

Cutting and pasting used to work, but there were too many graphic digits.

1. Notice graphic on the web you'd like to use.
2. Right-click or control-click on said graphic. Select "copy image address."
3. In your post, type a left bracket, followed by img, followed by a right bracket.
4. Paste (the image address you copied).
5. Repeat step three, but make it /img instead of img.
6. Preview your message.
7. Be aware that you may be stealing bandwidth from people who can't afford you to do that, or from whom it is a violation to do that. Host your own images in that case, as I do with my signature picture.

Imageshack gives you all the codes you need, but this works as well, if you use FireFox:
