Really good price, for a high power model with much better capacity and features compared to the usual 4 or 5000 watt models.

It’ll run anything important in your house. This is a YouTuber’s affiliate link:

That is 9500 W peak, actual 7500 W rated.

I wonder how these Chinese generators will hold up in use. A little experience with Chinese chainsaws makes me cautious.

I have always heard that the Honda generators are the Gold Standard, but pricey.

I really should get something, living out in the boonies.

That is a good question. They make a big point in the product description of identifying it as made by Westinghouse, but that is not really true. Westinghouse mostly doesn't exist anymore, all but a few parts have been sold off to new owners. They are just licensing the name to whatever company is actually manufacturing this.

As for reliability, there are a number of reviews indicating failures due to their voltage regulator going bad after less than a total 100 hours of operation.

I bought this Duramax back in June of 2018 and it's been great for us. At the time, between an ebay coupon and a sale price, it cost me a whopping $254.99. They're half-jokingly referred to as "Chonda" generators (Chinese Hondas) because they're Honda wannabes. It hasn't failed me yet when I needed it, but I will say I'm really glad I bought the dual fuel model. I've replaced the carburetor three times and it still surges when running on gas. But it does run. Been through all the DIY fixes. No issues at all with propane. No regrets.

My experience has been that the Chinese engines themselves are pretty good - but there are often problems with all the stuff that attaches to the engine, like the fuel systems (carburetor and hoses), electronics, wiring, pull start equipment, etc….all of which can render the device as inoperable as an engine failure.
