I want to know if my wife is still at Home Depo or left. If she's still there, I want to ask her to buy something. If she left, I won't bother call her.

Find My app tells me she was there 21 min ago, and it spins, it spins... it spins... and then it finally updates to show she was at home 44 min ago.

Why did it go back in time? Why not show the most recent location?

I see similar behavior when people are using both an Apple Watch and iPhone. It first reports a tentative location based on one device, and then updates to report a location based on another device.

From my experience, the location from a watch is often first reported, and then an iPhone's location typically replaces that.

I don't know how Apple decides that one device's signal is more reliable than another for this purpose.

I have found that if my wife's location is spinning then closing the link for her and then opening it again will typically update her specific location.
