Independent EV makers seem to shun the phone integration software.

Tesla, Lucid & Rivian do not offer Android Auto or Apple CarPlay...until now. Lucid announced yesterday that the next OTA update would enable ACP on the Lucid Air. Bonus - it's wireless, too.

I know this has been a bone of contention among Rivian & Lucid owners.

I am watching my Lucid app for the update.

Apparently not, or no one would complain. I know a bunch of engineers who work at Micron etc., and they all use android phones. It's the choice for many serious geeks. These guys have Teslas and one has a Bolt, but they could definitely be in the demographic for a Lucid.

Yes, there are many unhappy AA users on the owner's forum.

And, from what I understand, Lucid's OS is based on Android. So kinda weird.

I suspect it will drop soon.

Will never buy a car that doesn’t support CarPlay.
