I enjoy waffles, and enjoy cooking them. I have a bunch of variations that I make for savory and fruity waffles that don't work with pancakes.
But cleanup is so much easier for pancakes that I'd default to pancakes most of the time.

If I am not the one doing the cooking or cleanup, just eating, Belgian waffles beat pancakes in every category.

Given the limitations of the survey,
Each has its time and place.
Yes, and yes to the French Toast (with a splash of vanilla in the mix) addendum.
I'd add another favorite of mine, oatmeal, aka mush.
I do cold cereal often, but only out of convenience.
It/they run in nth place behind a hot breakfast.

That does not mean The Same As, just Known As, just as other substances foods may be known as mush.
And it doesn't mean everybody knows.
But certainly more than one or two people outside your sphere of knowledge.
