I am looking at an iPad case and people complain that it interferes with Apple Pencil 2 charging. Even though the pencil sticks to iPad, it appears it is not close enough to make it charge. People modified the case to allow the pencil to charge.

I am curious if I could use my Apple Watch charger or the iPhon MagSafe charger to charge the pencil.

The Pencil 2 won't charge from an Apple Watch charger or iPhone MagSafe charger. There are charging cases on Amazon from 3rd parties, but I have not used them before.

What's so special about this case though? Why not look at one of the bazillions of other cases that don't interfere with Pencil charging?

My mom has an iPad with the magnetic pencil charging. She initially said no to the Pencil, and got a case she liked. Later. It’s “get Mom a Pencil” time, and while the Pencil will (rather weakly) stick to the iPad, it won’t pair nor charge because the case interferes. There is a “cutout” that has to be pulled off to allow the Pencil to work properly. It has been done, and only time will tell if she’s going to be okay with it.

You're right, not worth the trouble. I like Spigen cases in general, so I was hoping to get this one, but I'll find another model. Thanks
