Safari weirdness . . .

Recently updated my OS to Big Sur 11.7.6. It's as far as I can go on this MBP (mid-2014).

I was on eBay, which was loading fine. Then some pages would load with weird characters, black areas, etc.
The black areas would show parts of what was supposed to be there if I moved the cursor over it, but then other areas would go black. This made the page completely unusable.

I've never seen behavior like this, so stumped as to what to do with it. On ebay, it's intermittent. On another forum I go to, it's constant and I have to use another browser to read it.

Otherwise, safari has been fine.

Any ideas?

I haven't been on Big Sur for awhile, but anytime I have Safari problems, I quit the app and relaunch it. If that doesn't cure it, I shut down the Mac and re-boot. I next try a Safe boot or a Disk Utility First Aid.
Last resort I reinstall the OS.

Hope this helps.

I think I will just put an OUT OF ORDER
sticker on my head and call it a day.

Safari > Settings > Advanced > Show Develop Menu

From the Develop menu, select "Empty Caches."

Quit and re-open Safari.

Thanks. So far, so good . . . (fingers crossed)
