I didn't know this existed... and it's underpriced... but not worth the effort. Interesting nonetheless.

Woah, never heard of that one before. Not sure anyone will want to deal with all that other stuff though.

My first Apple computer was an Apple IIe. That IIGS Woz Special Edition was the second Apple computer I owned. I later went with a G4 Sawtooth.
As far as I was concerned the were all great machines for their time.

Then I bought my first MacBook Pro and haven't owned a desktop since. Still using my second MacBook Pro, a mid-2012 with 16GBs RAM and a 1TB SSD.

What, they don’t have recycling in Alaska?

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

What is that at the very right of this picture? Looks like a power cord, but gigantic compared to the monitor next to it. Or are these doll-house computers.

Ha! I didn't see the illusion until you mentioned it, but now I can't unsee it...

I remember that box. Had to look up what the difference was between that and a regular IIGS, and it didn't turn out to be much more than flair:

The first 50,000 Apple IIGSs manufactured had a reproduced copy of Wozniak's signature ("Woz") at the front right corner of the case, with a dotted line and the phrase "Limited Edition" printed just below it. Owners of the Limited Edition, after mailing in their Apple registration card, were mailed back a certificate of authenticity signed by Wozniak and 12 key Apple engineers, as well as a personal letter from Wozniak himself (both machine-reproduced). Because the difference between standard and Limited Edition machines were purely cosmetic, many owners of new were able to "convert" to the Limited Edition by merely swapping the case lid from an older (and likely nonfunctional) machine.

When I upgraded from a IIc to an SE/30 in 1990 or so, I still had a bunch of accumulated stuff on 5.25" floppies. I located a lab at my college that had IIGS's with both kinds of drives, and basically snuck in to copy over all my stuff. It was in the school of Education, and the manager of their computer lab was not amused to find a senior in aerospace engineering using her gear (for what she obviously assumed to be nefarious purposes)...
