The Tesla files contain more than 2,400 self-acceleration complaints and more than 1,500 braking function problems, including 139 cases of unintentional emergency braking and 383 reported phantom stops resulting from false collision warnings. The number of crashes is more than 1000. A table of incidents involving driver assistance systems where customers have expressed safety concerns has more than 3000 entries...

Also, the leak has other consequences:

BERLIN, May 25 (Reuters) - German authorities have serious indications of possible data protection violations by Tesla (TSLA.O), Handelsblatt newspaper reported on Thursday, citing the data protection office in the state where the carmaker has its European gigafactory.

Handelsblatt's report said the U.S. electric car manufacturer has failed to adequately protect data from customers, employees and business partners, citing 100 gigabytes of confidential data leaked to the newspaper by a whistleblower...

The files include tables containing more than 100,000 names of former and current employees, including the social security number of Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk, along with private email addresses, phone numbers, salaries of employees, bank details of customers and secret details from production.

The breach would violate the GDPR, the newspaper added.

I did not know that Tesla makes its buyers sign confidential arbitration agreements!

I'm glad to see some of this coming to light. No way no how would I buy a car where I couldn't take the manufacturer to court for a design flaw or safety defect that cost a myself a lot of money or a family member or unrelated bystander their health or even their life.

Dealerships and manufacturers have been doing that for a LONG time. To illustrate:

Not to say it's good, but arbitration clauses are everywhere, including employment, etc.
