Kinda along that line, whenever I go to NYC, I get what my cousins refer to as "chicken & rice" (I think it comes with lamb? too) from one of the Mediterranean food carts. What is this thing formally referred to as? I'd like to try and find something similar here in the south. The dish comes in a round aluminum dish with paper cover, and contains meat, rice and salad, all segregated in the dish, with some kind of white sauce and a red sauce.

Is there a great Italian bakery in the area, like what's in Carrol Gardens?
Hankering for almond biscotti, sfogliatella & pignoli tart.

Just "chicken and rice". Luckily, we have a great truck a block away. Serious Eats has a page on how to make it for yourself.

From the link, "For the sauce: 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt,..."
STOP RIGHT THERE. Trust me. There's no Greek yogurt in any halal cart white sauce. It's mainly mayo, sugar, and vinegar.
