Converting audio files

So . . . dad has a new digital recorder that puts out .wma files.

What's the best (hopefully freeware) software out to convert .wma to .aiff? He's running 10.3.9.

I've only used the windows version, but it looks like the mac version is the same.

Very straightforward, I've never had problems.

I use mplayer.

/usr/local/bin/mplayer myfile.wma -ao pcm:file=myfile.wav -vc dummy -vo null

It makes .wav files which are essentially the same as .aiff. Same uncompressed info, just in a different order. QuickTime and iTunes should read .wav just fine.
