As soon as you said "guitar aficionados", my brain replied, "late 50's Les Paul, Cherry Sunburst..."

darn close, just missed the sunburst part....
add $9K for some pretty wood on the right.

My neighbor had a an all black late 50's LP similar to above,
then got a red bodied 60's similar to this that he played in his band...

I went w/ a couple of early 60's, pre-CBS Fenders......
Strat was loaned out in the 80's and I haven't gotten it back yet,
and the Mustang was stolen while it was in a local repair shop.

nice rides. I'm not a guitarist, but dig the thrill and occasionally share it.
I'm particular to old stock Telecaster, ES335, Firebird and a couple obscure ones I've been happy to record.

Always thru a black face Vibrolux 2x10".
I think mine is a c'68 and has Eminence speakers that may not of been OEM.
Every guitar I put thru that, no matter what the player played, I could always get sweet sounds.

I had a 1974 model that looked exactly like that.

Very cool. He kept its history and life as a guitar that got played a lot. I'm so glad the restoration didn't involve making it look new. I hate that.

That’s very cool. Not as old but I just finished reinstalling my original bridge pickup that was restored by Lindy Fralin in my 67 Telecaster today. I felt like I was 14 again when I finished, plugged in and heard the sound of that thing again.

nice Tele, Joe.

The guitar player in the old band bought a '75 new.
We went to Sam Ash a million times till he found one that he liked.
That thru the Vibrolux, lovely.

In the big room of my old studio, amp on a "guitar bench", a 57 on a speaker, a 414 about 6" away in between the 2 speakers and another 414 in omni on the other side of the room.
Occasionally supplemented with a Roland JC120.
Mix and match to all kinna flavor.
Early early Q8 console with bass & terrible, but nice discrete fat pres & good iron.

Thanks Fritz! That would sound really nice. I played my Tele through a 68 Super Reverb for many years that I bought at Terminal Music new for about $275. Bought the Tele at Jimmy’s Music for $160. That was when Manny’s was still in the old location near 6th Ave.

wanted to get a Super for the studio as well, but by then, mid 80s, people knew what they had. Good ones were already pricey.

Sold mine in the early 80s for $400 because I started driving a 70s Volkswagen Super Beetle and couldn’t fit it in the car. I still regret it but the one in Amplitube 5 gets close enough for me now.
