Detroit musician Rodriguez has died at 81.

I copied and pasted from this article but I kept getting a forum database error but I have no idea what the error is so I just wrote this out...

That was a fantastic story. If you haven't seen the film, you owe it to yourself to watch it.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

The documentary is great and so is Rodriguez’s music. I bought his two album releases after I watched the film. It’s so cool that he was one of Dave Matthews idols.

too late - the spoilers are out, but damned what great fun that was to watch.

that scene where the daughter gets to see her dad - a meek kinda guy - take the stage and master the crowd it like a badass was so cool. She never knew he dad had that within himself.

What I most remember about the documentary was a quote that went something like "He was the soundtrack of our lives".

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. What a fantastic film. Although I was surprised that he had already been rediscovered and toured Australia, which the documentary deliberately fails to mention.
