It's not never, but it's been over a year since my last purchase. They completely screwed up one order a few years ago and refused to apologize. A little after that I put them in the last resort category. Newegg is flirting with that classification.

I put "a couple orders a year" because that was the closest to reality, which is about once a year.

I just figure Bezos has enough money, so I only buy at Amazon if I can't get it anywhere else.

We live in a VERY small town - decent shopping is 30 to 45 minutes away. Prices are way higher because of little competition, so Amazon is the go to.

Can't participate in the poll because the dollar values fluctuate wildly, but my family has averaged over 100 orders per year the last several years. Most orders are probably under $50-75.

Fun to look at the history, though. From 1999-2005 it ranged from 1-3 orders per year before jumping to 6, then 12. I imagine the orders grew exponentially after subscribing to Prime. Those initial orders mainly consisted of CDs and DVDs...and some books. We do still buy books from Amazon, but it's kind of funny because at that time, Amazon was more of a threat to barnesandnoble.com as an online seller of media. Certainly not a go to source for the sundries we are buying now.

I'm on the higher end of the scale although the monthly amount varies wildly, peaking with the holidays. We get most of our pet food from amazon - and yes, I've compared to chewy. I almost always price shop even if I often end up back at amazon.

No clue $$, but Amazon provides all sorts of regular products that my local Target and / or grocery stores no longer carry. Subscribe and Save is a mixed bag, but does help with some items.

We DO try to buy at other places - Best Buy, Newegg etc for tech.

But for random items like designer iPhone cases, Amazon is where we go.

Its not about amazon, its about inventory. walmart.com could be an alternative -- but both places have bad raps? 75 at amazon. but know we did more other places, including, walmart, target and petsmart.

Somehow in 2005 I bought the OSX Tiger family pack for $199?

Exactly, inventory is the issue. The selection at Amazon cannot be touched by any of the local stores, although I have to say it is getting harder and harder to sort through all the cheap knockoff crap there.

Amount fluctuates. I probably average 3-4 items s month. The wife is much more active, probably 10-15 a month.

I get birthday and Christmas cards signed by Jeff.
