You can't have 'August' without Love's For Sail album

released August 1969

I said August is all that I know
It's with me where ever I go
It's with me when I need a friend
It brings me good weather
It keeps me together
It picks me up when I'm down

Good evenings, I love you, I do
I'll share all my dinings with you
But I can't help from wondering why?
You are so good to me
You do good things for me
You pick me up when I'm down

even better if pot is legal in your state.

Do you know what they did with the audio mix? I hear one voice up to the left of others. First time with a vinyl 'stereo' mix.

great record.
the 2 versions I have are dig sourced, don't have a vinyl.
One is a '95 collection and the other a 2015 remaster.
The drums & acoustic guitar are a bit more present, that could be done in mid/side re-mastering.

I'd think it was recorded on 8 track in '67 coz the prototype of the 16 track hit Mirasound NYC in '66 or '67 and not in mass production, I think, till the early 70s.
If remixed, the remix would have been from an 8 track, perhaps a 4 track.
Though Elektra studio was pretty advanced of the day.
They had, I believe, the 1st of very few British Sound Techniques consoles.
But the LP, I believe, was mostly recorded at Sunset Sound, also in possession of a ST console around the same time.

Back then, perhaps:
1- drums
2- bass
3- A.G.
4- brass
5/6- strings
7- bax
8- lead vocal

So there would have been the ability (if 8 track sourced and still in existence, see the Universal fire 2008) to move the lead vocal, if my guess of the tracking is correct.

It's the 1st cut on the LP, so it wouldn't have suffered from squeezed grooves at the end of an LP.
Which vinyl version do you have? There are many. '68, '01, '03, '12, '15, '16, including a Mobile Fidelity "version".

From wikipedia.
"A double-CD "Collector's Edition" of the album was issued by Rhino Records on April 22, 2008. The first disc consists of a remastered version of the original 1967 album. The second disc contains a previously unissued alternate stereo mix of the album, plus ten bonus tracks.[43]

"A 50th anniversary deluxe edition box set was released by Rhino on April 6, 2018, featuring four CDs, a DVD and an LP. It contains remastered versions of the stereo, mono and alternate stereo mixes of the album, a disc of demos, outtakes, alternate mixes and non-album tracks, a DVD containing a 24/96 stereo mix of the album and a bonus music video, and a new LP remaster of the album, remastered by Bruce Botnick and cut from high resolution audio by Bernie Grundman.[44]"

My comment about the vocals was for the first YT link. I don't have any vinyl of the band.

Somewhere in that portal to the great space-time continuum in my home I have the original LP.
