I flew to Italy for a race in late Sept that year.

I stick out as an American.

Many, many Italians stopped me on the street to ask if I was American and then to tell me that they were so, so sorry about 9-11.

so much anger produced so much death and destruction, and continues to reverberate through the world.

Have not been to NYC since 1996.
My FiL was there in Sept 01. He knew someone.

My ex has a pic of me on the roof. She never gave it back.

Kids are now graduating from college that weren't even born then.

The day of the attack I was at a murder scene of an 18-yr-old girl, she would be 40 now. Time really goes by.

I'd seen than one before.

Every time I watch one of these videos, the realization that hundreds of lives were snuffed out in a second washes over me all over again...

...not to mention the further loss of life associated with the towers' collapse.

Very sobering.

...with 1,104 victims still unidentified, progress has been agonizingly slow. The previous two identifications were made in 2021.


I had no idea there were so many unidentified...that there are so many doesn't really seem possible.
