Found a drone in my yard

I found this drone out in my yard. I don't see any identifying marks on it. Is there any way to find the owner? Whoever it is probably wants it back.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.

Drones over a certain size are required to have an FAA registration number.

Does it have a camera? If so you might be able to see where it came from.

If not then it's probably too small to need a registration.

Leave it hooked to a charger and the owner might activate it (assuming they weren't doing something obviously illegal at the time). Edit: maybe point the camera at an index card with your address/phone.

You might be able to scan it with a WiFi tool to see connection information, or pull the SD card to view recorded videos.

Manufacturer and part number should give you a lead on user guide to download, and the manufacturer might have user data tied to serial number.

I’d pull the SD card and check to make sure they aren’t using it for nefarious purposes.

Edit: I’d view the footage, then put it back.

After googling for images it appears to be an ATTOP W10 which sells for about $70 on Amazon. So it's a toy. It requires a special cable to charge and I don't think there is any on board storage. So it's probably one of the neighbor kids toys. Range is listed at 50 meters so flying it into my back yard probably got it out of range. It has certainly been interesting to learn about.

You could post to a local lost and found group, Craigslist or Facebook or next door, etc.

Looks like a cheap one. The one they use when they don't care if it gets lost.

Over 249g, a drone is required to display its FAA registration number.

That's not to say that someone wouldn't post the number as required, but this sounds like a mini-class drone (<249g).

At $70, if that's the price, somebody might not cry much, but they'd probably like to get it back.

I like the idea of aiming the camera at an index card but I'd use just a phone number.

Or maybe a message: 'If you want your drone back, meet me at the park, wearing one red shoe (and ll other required clothing at...)

If you're seen no movement of any of its bits, the battery is probably dead, Jim.

Did it land right side up?

I'm curious if it fell from the sky, or auto-rotated when the battery got too low to RTB.

No, drones won't auto-rotate (although apparently there is one pilot who claims his did).

50 meters is only a couple of houses away, maybe just put a sign out in front of your place for the neighbors to see ? ? ?
